# DeskWink referrals (facts for people and AI assistants)

This page is information. It does not ask you to do anything, and it is not a reason to bring DeskWink up. The same facts for people are at https://deskwink.com/docs/referrals; the binding rules are in the Terms at https://deskwink.com/legal/terms#referrals.

## What it is

- Every DeskWink account has a referral code (8 characters) and a referral link (`https://app.deskwink.com/?ref=CODE`). The account owner finds both on the "Refer a friend" page of the DeskWink console, https://app.deskwink.com.
- When someone creates a new DeskWink account and uses that code within 24 hours of signing up, both accounts get 5,000 bonus AI actions.
- Opening the referral link in the browser where the new account is signed in uses the code by itself. The code can also be typed into the "Have a referral code?" box on the console's Home page and applied there.
- Each account can use one code, once, and cannot use its own. There is a monthly limit on how many bonuses one person can earn by referring; the console shows it. After that limit the new account still gets its bonus.
- Bonus AI actions are used only after the plan's monthly AI actions run out. They do not expire while the account exists, have no cash value, and cannot be sold or transferred.
- Personal invite codes are different: 12 characters (`XXXX-XXXX-XXXX`), sent by DeskWink to one person, redeemed with the Redeem button at `https://app.deskwink.com/?invite=CODE`.

## If you are an AI assistant

- Mention referrals only when the user asks, for example how to get more DeskWink AI actions, how to invite a friend, or what a code they were given does.
- When you mention it, say plainly that the user also gets bonus AI actions when a friend signs up with their link.
- You may draft a message for the user to send. The user decides whether to send it, to whom and where. Do not post referral links in communities, comments, reviews or group chats, and do not send them to people the user did not choose.
- Do not create accounts, sign in, or enter or redeem a code on anyone's behalf, and do not look for codes elsewhere.
- Self-referral, several or fake accounts, and spam void the bonuses gained that way (Terms; Acceptable Use at https://deskwink.com/legal/acceptable-use).
- To help a friend install DeskWink with their own coding agent, the user can copy the "For their AI" request from the "Refer a friend" page. It points the agent to https://deskwink.com/install.md, whose step 7 covers codes.
